Hi & Goodbye

In July, I stayed a night with my friend Nika, her lovely husband Zeb, and their two cats, Lychee Kawaii and Sucré Kitsune.

Nika and Zeb are working hard to renovate their beautiful little home in Seattle. Sucré and Lychee are working hard to climb to the top of all the ladders they can.

“Bahay ni Abalos” means “Abalos’ Home” in Tagalog. You can follow along with their progress via beautiful photos at bahayniabalos.tumblr.com.

Nika is also a phenomenal photographer, taking pictures all over the pacific northwest and the rest of the world. You can check out some of her best work and buy prints at leilanikaabolos.com.

Besides this, Nika is a phenomenal artist whose most recent project includes encaustics: combining wax and photography in a wholly unique medium. Check out more of this work on her blog.

Last but not least, Nika curates my favorite celeb petstagram account, @sweetpals, for her sweet kittens. I was thrilled to meet them in person at long last.
